Last week was a bit of a blur, spent the weekend and the beginning of the week in NYC at the NY International Gift Fair (NYNOW). It was a great experience that I can't wait to do again (February!?), and now and I am home with a bunch of orders to fill! Look for my work coming soon to a gallery/store near you including in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, DC, Ohio, and close to home at Worcester Center for Crafts!
Met some really interesting artists at the show, most notably Manuel Ferreiro, a sculptor based in Mexico City who makes amazing bronze art objects. I am the proud owner of "de ella," a hanger, complete with little screw. He told me something I will never forget, that he makes his work and continues to make his work because he "believes in it." He writes a short narrative to accompany each object, explaining the importance of the object to him. His work really hit home for me, and I can't wait to hang my very own "de ella," pictured below, photo courtesy of Manuel Ferreiro:
After the show, I met my family for a much needed vacation on the Jersey shore. It was just what I needed.
And now, off to work! Come see me at an upcoming sale/show as follows:
